Damn, it looks like the sight has gone. I fancied a good laugh as well. From what's been said about the site maybe jeebus thought it was far fetched and smote them with leprosy and eye jelly warts.

Attention all you wacky evolutionists!
by AlmostAtheist inevolution versus creation has been beat to death lately, this isn't another debate thread.
i wanted to showcase a hugely funny site i found when researching creationists' views.
note that i don't believe this site in any way depicts the beliefs of most creationists.

Wow, pretty cool. I was hoping it might be the glass Popemobile for sale though
I always thought it would be cool if they filled the glass Popemobile with water and had the Pope just float around like a religious lava lamp.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses Have The Reputation THEY Think They Have?
by minimus inwitnesses believe they are special.
the publications give many examples of how wonderful a witness was viewed upon by a "worldly" person.
kms tell of how so many praise the witnesses for being so "different".....what would you say is the real way people view jws??

The first thing that came into people's minds when I told them about being a JW was the fact that we didn't have Xmas or birthdays. That thought then triggered the fact that JW's don't allow blood transfusions for their kids. It seemed to me that people felt sorry for us and for our kids especially.

Things you shouldn't have liked as a Witness.......BUT DID!!!
by ScoobySnax inwhen you were a jw can you remember things you should've not liked but did?
i was listening to some dowloads tonight and heard "happy birthday" by stevie wonder, i remember going to a big family party when i was a kid, and my uncle who had some dj decks put this one on for me as it was my birthday (none of my dads side of the family were jw) i loved it.......good memories still of this song.. i remember getting easter eggs too, and thinking however pagan they were, they tasted bloody delicious.
better than "ordinary" chocolate bars.

I enjoyed doing little magic tricks with cards and coins and stuff. I wasn't allowed a magic set so I used to look at books in the library and try and figure out how to do it. I always wondered at what point tricks became demonised sorcery and if I got really good at complicated magic tricks would I get a tap on the shoulder from Satan saying he could show me a better one but I had to sign my soul over to him or something.

Knoweedge, Belief and JW's
by cheeseman inhaving been involved in a few online debates with jw's lately, i've realised that no matter how devastatingly logical your argument is, a jw will never accept it.
i began thinking it's obvious this is the conditioning at work and that hiding from cognitive dissonance is their survival method to preserve there beliefs.. however, what are the component parts of this "we're never wrong" attitude?
i started thinking back and i seemed to remember a lot of instances in the publications or talks such as:-.

They are very interesting results black sheep, thanks for posting them.
It kinda refutes the claim that the WBTS are not dogmatic in their beliefs.

Do You Think Pink?
by prophecor inwhy are men petrified of the color pink?
would you, as a man, ever wear anything pink, say a pink polo shirt, with a pair of faded blue jeans?
although a bit out of the ordinary for most men, the artist in me ask, what is it with the very sexist colour of pink?

The Nazi's during WW2 labelled homosexual's in concentration camps with a pink triangle. I'm not sure if that's where the pink = feminine thing came from but pre-20th century colours didn't seem to be gender specific at all.
I have a few pink shirts & tops, I even have some pink jeans. We're just doing our bit to defeat nazism, right guys

So What Do You Think Of The New Airbus A380?
by Englishman inlooks a real stunner imho.
22 wheels?
wow!
-
New Worldly Translation
I think it's a pretty cool plane. There should be room in the market for both the A380 and the Boeing project if the forecasted stats for airtravel in the future are correct.
I have a suspicion though that your choice of ticket on the A380 will either be a cheapo ticket on a cramped flight with 800 other passengers or a very expensive ticket with cocktail lounges and internet bars and nothing in between.

Good point about married couples lilbit. That's the trouble with making hard and fast rules is everyone has different circumstances and there'll be loopholes when the rule is analyzed. Instead of making things clearer it causes confusion and then people, yes even dubs, think it's a stupid rule and ignore it. I don't think the org. will ever learn though.
It makes me laugh when the org put all these rules in the WT or KM etc and then qualify it all by saying they are not being dogmatic and they are only suggestions. The mere fact it's in print in publications supposedly inspired by God's word that are meant to be guiding the congs means that they are being dogmatic. If they are only suggestions keep them to yourself or just tell your friends that it might be a good idea if we did this or that. If the assemblies are wonderful places with a great united brotherhood then people will want to stay on campus or just nip out to the local Wendy's and proudly wear their name badge. The fact that JW's don't means that a lot of them are sick of being bullied in matters of personal decision.
the Watchtower Public Policy Program forbids you, a grown adult, to pop over to Wendy's for a cheeseburger.
I'm thinking the WBTS has shares in Wendy's as well as all those Kool-aid shares. Not exactly a balanced diet is it.
